2026 Acura RDX Trims: Choose Your Level of Luxury

The 2026 Acura RDX gives Canadian drivers three trims to choose from: RDX, A-SPEC™, and Platinum Elite A-SPEC™. All three combine Acura’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®), a 10-speed automatic transmission, and a range of comfort, technology, and driver-assistance features.

The main differences come down to styling, interior materials, convenience features, and added technology. That makes the lineup easy to understand: the RDX provides the core luxury SUV experience, the A-SPEC adds a sportier character, while the Platinum Elite A-SPEC brings more premium comfort and driver-focused features.

2026 Acura RDX: Key Specifications

Every Canadian 2026 RDX uses the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It produces up to 272 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The engine uses direct injection, DOHC and VTEC technology and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

SH-AWD is standard on every trim. The system works with Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System, which provides Snow, Comfort, Normal, and Sport driving modes.

Fuel consumption varies slightly by trim. The standard RDX is rated at 11.0 L/100 km city, 8.6 L/100 km highway, and 9.9 L/100 km combined. The A-SPEC and Platinum Elite A-SPEC are rated at 11.3/9.1/10.3 L/100 km city/highway/combined. Acura recommends premium 91-octane unleaded fuel for all three versions.

RDX: The Starting Point

The standard 2026 Acura RDX focuses on the essentials of the lineup without moving into the sport-oriented A-SPEC design.

It rides on 19-inch Berlina Black aluminum-alloy wheels and features Acura’s Jewel Eye LED headlights, Chicane LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and a power tailgate with programmable height.

Inside, the RDX uses leatherette seating and provides heated front seats, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic moonroof with a power sunshade.

The cabin also includes a 10.2-inch HD centre display, True Touchpad Interface™, wireless and wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Amazon Alexa Built-in, SiriusXM™, Bluetooth® audio, AcuraLink® connected services, and a 7.0-inch meter display.

For audio, the RDX has an Acura Premium Audio System with nine speakers. A wireless phone charger is also included.

Safety technology comes through AcuraWatch®, with features including Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Blind Spot Information, Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor.

A-SPEC™: A Sportier Take on the RDX

The 2026 RDX A-SPEC™ keeps the same engine and SH-AWD system but gives the SUV a more distinctive appearance and sport-focused cabin.

The A-SPEC rides on 20-inch Shark Grey aluminum-alloy wheels and adds A-SPEC exterior styling. It also features dual-round exhaust finishers, LED fog lights, gloss-black exterior details, and power-folding side mirrors.

Inside, the changes are more noticeable. The A-SPEC features an A-SPEC flat-bottom steering wheel, Ultrasuede®-trimmed Milano premium leather seating surfaces, contrast stitching and piping, and metal sport pedals.

The front seats remain heated and gain ventilation, while the audio system upgrades to an ELS Studio® 3D Premium Audio System with 16 speakers, including a subwoofer.

The A-SPEC also adds Iconic Drive™ ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers, hands-free access for the power tailgate, and additional USB-C connectivity for second-row passengers.

For drivers who want the RDX’s standard mechanical package but prefer a more expressive exterior and sportier interior, the A-SPEC creates a clear step up in character.

Platinum Elite A-SPEC™: More Premium Comfort

At the top of the 2026 Canadian RDX lineup is the Platinum Elite A-SPEC™. It retains the A-SPEC’s 2.0-litre turbo engine, SH-AWD, 20-inch wheels, and sport-oriented design while adding a longer list of premium features.

One of its key upgrades is the surround-view camera system, which provides a broader view around the vehicle to assist with parking and low-speed manoeuvring. A colour head-up display is also included, projecting relevant information in the driver's field of view.

The Platinum Elite A-SPEC uses 16-way power-adjustable front seats with four-way power lumbar support. It also adds perforated Milano premium leather seating, heated second-row seats, and ventilated front seats.

The exterior receives additional gloss-black treatment, including gloss-black side mirrors and door handles. The trim also features machine-finished Berlina Black 20-inch wheels.

Other upgrades include auto-dimming side mirrors, acoustic laminate glass for the rear windows, additional cargo-area power, and a rear-seat comfort focus.

Space for Everyday Canadian Driving

Regardless of trim, the 2026 RDX offers the same basic dimensions and cargo layout. It measures 4,766 mm long, 1,900 mm wide, and 1,667.8 mm high, with a 2,750-mm wheelbase.

The RDX provides 835 litres of standard cargo volume, increasing to a maximum of 881 litres under Acura's specified measurement. Folding the second row increases cargo capacity to 1,668 litres standard or 2,260 litres maximum.

Passenger volume is rated at 2,945 litres, with 1,057 mm of front legroom and 975 mm in the rear.

This gives the RDX a practical layout for daily commuting, family use, shopping trips, and longer highway drives without moving into the larger three-row SUV class.

Technology and Safety Across the Lineup

Technology remains a major part of the 2026 RDX experience. All three trims use the 10.2-inch HD centre display and Acura's True Touchpad Interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also available across the lineup.

The RDX includes AcuraLink connected services, Amazon Alexa Built-in, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Bluetooth streaming audio, and SiriusXM. The A-SPEC and Platinum Elite A-SPEC receive the more powerful 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D system.

AcuraWatch is also standard throughout the lineup. Depending on the feature, the system can provide assistance with maintaining following distance, monitoring blind spots, detecting potential forward collisions, helping with lane position, and recognizing traffic signs. These technologies are designed to assist the driver and do not replace attentive driving.
